Project coding key should allow new sub WBS for existing Project but should not allow new AR & PD

Dear Experts,

 

Hope you all are doing well !

 

I have old project coding key and new project coding key in coding mask. We want to restrict old project coding key,  due to this reason we selected lock indicator in coding mask setting for any new PD, WBS, AR & Lock indicator for standard WBS also by using old project ID.

But this is restricting  to create New sub WBS also for the project which exist in system for old project ID.

 

Is there any way to restrict new AR, Project Definition creation for old project ID but allow to create sub WBS for existing projects with same old project ID.

Hi Singh,

 

First check whether you can do via Validation OPSI, else try with user exit CNEX0002, contact your abaper.

Dear Maria,

 

If i will maintain validation for project definition to restrict old project coding key but still users will be able to create AR.

is there any way to restrict creatyion of new AR, New PD by using old project coding key.

Hi,

 

This looks like only User Exit will help you, since the validation will not affect AR.

 

Contact your abaper, this should be a small logic to be put in place.

cj20n milestone attachment file does not work

Hello,
When we create attachment files for Milestone, they are linked to network (BUS2002) and not to milestone (MLST_NETW), as expected.
Example :
       Network – 1000
                  Activity 01
                        Milestone A
                               Attachment file X
                        Milestone B         
                               Attachment file Y.
Actually, in the Network, Activity and Milestones all files created under the Network 1000 are displayed.
Our customer would like to see attachment file X and Y only into there respective Milestone.
In OAC3 , we added object type MLST_NETW with doc type BDS_ATTACH, but unfortunately, this entry has no effect.
Do you see any solution to resolve this problem ?

Hi Paulo,

 

I have checked it in Controlling > General Controlling > Organization > Maintain Versions

AP0 version for Plan is enabled (Ticked) . Does it mean it is locked ?

Hi Suresh,

 

When you goto maintain versions. You can see the below screen.

Double click on Highlight Settings for Each Fiscal year. Then you will see below screen.

Now check in your system for your controlling ara Version is locked.

 

And also if possbile , please share a screen shot of your error.

Thanks for the information. I have cheked the same and found that only Copying Allowed is enabled and remaining two Version Locked and Integrated Planning were disabled

 

If possible can I have your contact number ?

Hi SAP Gurus,

 

I am working on ECC 6.0 EHP 7 and while executing any structure related transaction e.g CN41n,CJ32,Cost report,Budget report. I am getting an error as

A error has occurred in a generation program

Message No. OK033


Diagnosis

When you want to run a report that uses the PSJ logical database, module pools are generated for runtime optimization and memory optimization. This module pool cannot be generated since therew is an error in the logical database. This error can only occur, if the SAPDBPSJ program was changed during the runtime of your prrogram.

 

I already gone through SCN and SAP note but not find any response.

 

Any kind of suggestion appreciating.

Hi Terence,

 

From the note - solution is explain as -

 

Check which structure of the form PSIS_GEN_* has an inactive version or is not activated. To do this, call transaction SE11 and choose the structures of the form PSIS_GEN_* via the F4 help, display each structure and use the menu Structure --> Active <-> Inactive to check whether an inactive version exists.


can you explain it how can I check this. I tried but I did not find any structure input there.

Plan Progress on WBS Element

Hi Experts,

Hope you all are doing Well.  I am calculating Planned Progress for WBS and Internal Activities both on time proportional method. like a activity of 3 month duration from 01.09.15 to 30.11.15 and we calculate on 31.10.15 then the plan progress is 2 month / 3 month = 66.6%)


Configuration

Progress Version:

EV Basis     Budget(Overall)

POC Weighing     Weight

Planning Type     Basic dates

Early/Late     earliest possible

Ref     both Ticked

Measurement Method:

WBS     Plan     Times Pro.

Int Act     Plan     Times Pro.

 

 

As i have schedule the project on Basic dates. WBS calculate the date from Activities.

now we have now two basic date: Basic earliest date and Basic Finish date.

now after run the CNE1 for progress calculation

Activity get the plan progress right on the basic earliest date.

but on WBS, it calculated not from basic earliest date but from basic date(Basic earliest+ Basic latest). while we want to calculate from only Basic earliest date.

 

Pl see the Red Colour Highlighted WBS.

Validation rule for Project Profile

Hi,

 

We have already created four project coding mask (EX-2828/BDC/00000) and fifteen of Project Profile. And only eight project profiles are using by define the project coding mask, others as per Project specific of any starting four number.

 

We were maintained the validation rule as below

 

Prerequisite - -PROJ-PSPID :5-8: = 'BCDS'

 

Check - PROJ-PROFL = '0000010'

 

Because of this validation system was allowing any stating four numbers (ex- 1235, 3528, 5285) in project def. So we want to continue the same project coding mask (Ex.1235/BCDS/000000) which has already created. But it is not possible to create the same project coding mask without delete all created the previous project.

 

Because of that we are trying to build the new validation rule.

Prerequisite – PROJ-PROFL = '0000010'

Check - PROJ-PSPID :1-4: = '1235' AND PROJ-PSPID :5-8: = 'BCDS'

 

After this validation rule, system is not allowing to save the project and given the error message. But when we are give already created the project coding mask (Ex-2828), then allow to saving the project.


Please suggest how to build the validation rule.

Can you please explain what do you want to validate in the PROJ-PSPID :1-4: = '1235'. Are you checking only for project created with starting 1235.

person availability in workforce planning cmp2

Dear PS experts.

 

     I want to restrict the customer while entering work hours to specific person in CMP2 not more than person available hours for this person.

 

for example :

 

I have an employee with maximum available hours 8 hours per days.
but the customer can put 10 hours and the system allow me to do this.
can i restrict this ?

Hi Devendra,

 

You mean to say if project starts with 1235/BCDS then system should check whether profile is

0000010.
